Yep.. I've been flying these routes for years, happens every year. It starts as a 1 hour time difference during the US summer, then Brazil goes ahead an hour on Oct 18th creating a 2 hour time difference from US EST. Then the US goes
back an hour on Nov 1st creating a 3 hour time difference. The flight departure/arrival times only change in Brazil (+1 for a couple weeks, and then +2) to accommodate it.
That said, the 11:35pm departure to MIA is a second service. Looks to be 4x weekly at first, increasing to 5x. I have no idea whether this is new for the coming Brazilian summer or whether this flight exists every year.
There's no way they would close the AC -- the AC hours would adjust to the new flight schedules when those change with Daylight Savings.
It's every year. Summer in Brazil is the high season and they always add that extra flight. Last year they were kind enough to do a JFK-GIG non-stop. Looks like no such luck this year.
And yes, the AC stays open.
