The Swissotel is a fine hotel, that has never quite developed a loyal following. Built when the neighborhood bordered the "combat zone", the hotel suffered when Federated Dept. stores abandoned plans to build a Bloomingdales on a vaccant lot across the street, and the area continued to decline. Perhaps the Hyatt flag and marketing, coupled with the recent growth of the area (now known as the "Ladder District") with new condos and the Ritz Carlton Boston Common around the corner, could make a big difference...
