I am not flaming Ms Tinkybelle but merely repeating what she implied the staff at the Hyatt Regency Kowloon to be.

I find that in Asia, if you 'talk down' to the staff, treat them as staff, and basically try to push your way around by flashing your Diamond card and making demands by saying the word "Demand" more than once, you will be treated with the lowest respect. This is especially true for a place like HongKong where giving 'face' is very important.

Next to the Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok, the Hyatt Regency Kowloon is my second most stayed hotel in Asia. I have found the staff bend over backwards to accomodate you IF you do not make demands on how you should be treated. They don't care how rich you are or what country you come from. (This being HKG, chances are even the bellboy has more $$ than the average guest at the Hyatt!)

I don't know how many stays I've accumulated at the Hyatt Regency Kowloon. But everytime I check-in at the Regency Club, I am greeted as though a family member has returned.

FYI - since 1995, I've managed to stay at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok : 232 times. So as an asian man myself, I think I can add my says about asian culture (and expectations) to you.
