I guess it depends on both, outside factors (tailwind, air traffic) as well as the pilot. I can also imagine that they're likely to fly slower on occasion (tailwind) and just stick to the schedule - having the advantage of saving fuel and meeting ATC / Airport expectations, so maybe the pilot deserves *some* credit?
