The man who was sitting next to me on the plane told me that we must have a great pilot because he took us from a one half hour paperwork delay to a on time arrival. I asked the man why the pilot did not go that fast all the time? That way we would have arrived one half hour early!
Does your flight crew still try to trick the passengers into believing he sped up the plane so he could make up the delay in the air?
Without tailwinds assisting him I doubt that the pilot would have been able to make-up time in the air. +1 on the poster who says that the airlines have been padding their schedules for years. IMHO it has gotten ridiculous in the pat few years.
