I have only tried the Titanium. It is beyond me how one could not get a good shave with the Titanium blades and a good brush lather. What was not good about the shave? Not close enough? Too irritating? Not good on upper lip?

Not irritating at all, hard on the chin and corner of the mouth. Was close but clogged a lot. I also found I had to go over my neck a lot more then using the other razor. I was at a Gillette Mach 3 before going to the Shick Quatro Titanium and I immediately went back after trying for one week.
I really am looking at the straight blades or the old double sided trying to see if going back old school is better for me then the new bells and whistles.
I have good soap, sometimes the water is not hot enough so that is detracts in the shave some. Brushes at home set is OK, just a pain in the arse to travel with.
