Just do a google on travel shaving brush and you will come up with many choices. Some are plastic, others metal. They all work in the same principle. The brush is compressed and inserted into a tube and screwed shut for transport. When you unscrew it, the tube becomes the brush handle. Probably plastic would make more sense.

Soap can be grated down and pressed into any nice container. Metal is fancy but unless it's stainless steel or brass I'd worried about rust. Seems some nalgene or other plastic container might be better suited.
The famous Tabac Original shave soap comes in a stick form and can easily be transported wrapped in a little alu foil or in a ziplock. The brush gives you a better foam and prepares the face optimally but it is not absolutely necessary.
The biggest problem with the brush is the drying time. I'd be a bit afraid of ruining an expensive brush by not giving it enough time to dry.
