What does the booking class L mean? Will I have a problem with status miles? Could I also use NW/Delta miles to upgrade?
Yes, this would go towards your status. L is just the fare basis of this particular itinerary. This L fare wouldn't be eligible to upgrade at all with your Skymiles. According to DL.com:

Now SkyMiles members can use miles to upgrade to First Class/Business First and World Business Class™ on all Northwest operated flights.

* Eligible fares include Y,B,M,H,Q, and V for all domestic travel and Y, B, M fares for all international travel.
