As much as I also love my exceedingly indulged basset, I have never taken him to a top tier hotel, he's a motel kind of guy. Not to think he's a slouch, he has flown quite a bit (cargo) and has eaten leftovers from some pretty swanky restaurants.

As much as I trust him to be well behaved, couches are his thing and if I had the room after he spent the night on the couch, I would be pretty miffed - not everyone enjoys eau de basset as much as I do.

I'm glad that Loews, the Coast chain and the st.regis will accomodate dogs. However, boycotting the Hyatt just because they won't is sort of lame.
