I am on AF Flying Blue since this is the program I signed on in 2005 while traveling for work in Africa. I did not think of signing on for DL instead at the time (did not know about mileage accumulation being much easier on DL rather than AF)... I do travel a lot in Africa these days and I have accumulated lots of miles with AF. Seems easier to reach elite status (less miles than on DL, 25k vs. 30k I believe) but as pointed out, many low class fares on DL / Sky Team partners do not accumulate much miles on AF, which is really annoying... Now that you are telling me that DL Skymiles people accumulate full miles / EQM all the time, I suppose I should consider switch one of these days... If I do that, I assume I first need to spend my miles on AF as I cannot simply transfer them on DL Skymiles, can I???
Regarding my UA premier executive status, I do have it automatically through my company I also traveled recently to Africa on LH and signed on to UA at that time (did not have *A account on any airline at that time)...
Anyway, I will investigate on a possible MR using tips provided by Burj and shall keep you posted.
Of course, I remain open to any suggestions you may have.
