This is not true, if you can prove you have a DL (other forms of ID, registration, insurance information etc.), you will get a ticket to appear in court with your license, or even go scott free with a warning, this is at the discretion of that particular cop. This has actually happened to a friend before, he left his wallet at home

. Cops have access to DMV and Insurance records on their computer...btw, I happen to live in Atl...hope you enjoy your trip to the peach state.

It will get you a ticket period. The officer will advise you to come to the police station within 24 hrs to prove you have one and they can waive the ticket...But you still get a ticket depending on the officers mood!
