Agree that it pretty much negates the benefit of having a photocard licence.

How does Hertz Gold service work in the US (for non-US residents)? I can pick up a car in the UK just by walking up to the parking space and driving out. Don't have to show my licence as it is on file - but presumably I could have racked up a zillion points in the meantime that Hertz don't know about?

Only the use the Hertz Gold Service w/ my CT state license when I'm a hurry (and, if I'm a hurry, I usually have a car service anyway). In all other cases, I approach the agent to check whether there are any upgrade available.
