Speaking of that, I've had my FT bag tags [semi-]proudly displayed for a couple of years now and have never had anyone even ask what it is, much less actually meet a fellow FTer.

The only FTer I've randomly bumped into was in the basement of the Petronas Towers in KUL. I was in the movie theater where they show you the propaganda video about how great the Petronas corporation is (yadda, yadda, yadda), and after the movie, the guy sitting behind me was chatting it up with his buddy about his SPG and UA statuses and what upgrades had cleared and all that. As we were ushered out of the theater, I said I heard him talking about his SPG Plat and UA 1K statuses and asked him if he'd ever heard of a website called FlyerTalk. He said, "Of course!" I said, "I knew it--only an FTer would talk the way you do!" He told me his handle but it appears to only have a couple of very old posts associated with it, so perhaps he's mostly a lurker or just a part-time FTer.
