FWIW, I contacted Hyatt early this year and asked if they would match my Marriott Platinum staus. They gave me comp Diamond status through the end of this year. I have NOT received any promo reduced-qualify mailings. I will qualify the hard way sometime next month. They gave me one freebie and then made me qualify on my own. I think that's fair (presuming you all agree with the practice of comping other programs' elite members in the first place-a topic for another posting)
