Cat 6 should not have a plastic toilet seat with a pee cut-out.
Mr. Emanon and I stayed at the Napa Marriott and Spa this weekend. Sadly, I was disappointed by the property.
Checked in on Friday and was given the first room by the lobby on the first floor across form the business center, facing the highway, and next to a maintenance room. Not even a room in the Concierge wing. I asked if they had a better room, she said they can't upgrade us or give us another room since we are staying on points. She suggested we try the room first.
Room was nice and big, but really did resemble a cheep hotel room, with cheep furniture and fixtures. It was quite loud from the lobby, business center, highway, and maintenance guy. I do have to say, the bed was very comfortable, and the bar staff was very nice and went above and beyond. Also, the housekeeping staff did a great job, the room was very clean, just a bad location and no upgrade.
After the first night, and people in the hall constantly waking us up, I asked for another room. The Front Desk manager came out, looked me up, and said, "I'm sorry Mr. Emanon, your stay is free, we just can't give you one of our nicer rooms when you are not paying." I was a bit surprised as I have always been upgraded when space was available, or at least put in a better location basic room when staying on points. I mentioned that my profile says high floor and could she at least put me in a second floor room, even a basic one, so it will be quieter. she just shook her had and said she was sorry, and that she is aware I am platinum, but that the hotel has a policy where they put people on free stays in the least desirable rooms, and if she put me in a better room, she would have to do it for every one else.
I asked if she at least had any of the wine coupons the previous posters have mentioned. She said that they do, but again, can not give them out since my stay is on points.
I also experienced what others have with the CL. Almost always picked clean, staff non existent, and over crowded with families.
I doubt I am going to complain to Marriott. I tried with the hotel, I now know, and I will not go back there. It was clean, comfortable, just noisy and couldn't even get a second (top) floor room.
In my 4 years with Marriott, I have only complained one time, and it was about a situation far worse, and I want to keep my record clean. I was just surprised about the bad location room and not being allowed anything else.
I also wonder why its a category 6. They have cut out in the toilet seats in the rooms, I always associate that with category 4 or below.
