If it's on the same itinerary, you should be fine, though.

Well, the two tickets are on separate itineraries. So, at the origin in India, if Jet refuses to transfer my baggage to the other carrier in Bangkok, I will have to retrieve my baggage at Bangkok airport and transfer it myself.

What is a safe connection time in Bangkok in that case? I have 1 hour 45 min in Bangkok - is that sufficient? If cutting it close (assuming flights arrive and depart on time), I would rather cancel my Jet flight and fly on another airline.
