The only difference between the basic room and Regency Club room is the DVD player. Regency club rooms are on floors 29, 31-34. I would avoid rooms on 29. The rooms on 31-34 are served by a private elevator and are located on the side of the property providing a beautifully harbor view & and partial city view. They also avoid the very large roof of the Convention & Exposition center which may harbor view room have to look over. With all that stated, The Grand Club is a must.
I would recommend two things. Try and talk them into a Regency club harbor view. If they won’t give then ask for a harbor view room on a high floor like 27 or 28 and Club access. Try and get a room is series 11-15. The room numbers ore in the format floor-series. Hence room 2713 is on the 27th floor and a 13 series room.
I personally would upgrade to an Executive suite for 6K points. I believe all suites have club access (double check) the suites are call 10 series. There is only one executive suite on each floor.
But, you are correct the main thing to get is a Harbor view and access to the Grand Club. You will love this property.
