Maximizing Points for Seattle Elliott Grand
I am not very familiar with the GP Program and would appreciate suggestions with how to handle our next stay (which is a bit complicated). We will be at the Elliott Grand this summer. Here is what our reservation looks like:
1. First night is a convention rate ($210) for one room.
2. Nights 2-4 are priceline and are for 2 rooms. We will move the 2 teenagers to their own room for these nights. The rooms are booked on separate reservations. One is in my husband's name the other in mine.
3. The promo code GP2000 has been tied to each reservation.
4. Hotel is sold out for at least the first night of our stay.
I have spoken to a front desk supervisor at the hotel and she assures me that the two rooms will be very close to one another.
My questions:
1. We only have one GP account for our family. Would it be beneficial to open a second account in my husband's name and tie it to his reservation? This would allow him to take advantage of the quarterly update profile bonus of 200 points? Disadvantages to 2 accounts? I guess the obvious one would be if we are shooting for status with Hyatt and at this time we are not.
2. Are our accounts combineable for redeeming future awards?
3. What opportunities are there to maximize our points for this stay? Can we both get the GP2000 promo?
Thanks so much for reading this far and TIA for any pointers.
