FWIW, I was just in Tokyo this weekend and wasn't that impressed with the looks of the Century Hyatt (although I was staying elsewhere). The Century Hyatt isn't exactly located in a great place if you're going to be doing any sightseeing at all - I would suggest the Renaissance Ginza Tobu, which may have smaller rooms but is quite comfortable and extremely well located. If you're tied to Hyatt, though, perhaps Taipei would be your better bet.

Edit: As far as prices go, the rate I was quoted for the Century Hyatt was under $175 USD/night, and I stayed at the Renaissance for even less. Where are you seeing a $500/night rate???
