It would be a different matter if you had already issued the award.
They can ticket them "together" but they won't be able to put them onto a single PNR unless there is more of the same inventory available and they, effectively, cancel one of them and add the new inventory to the other one. If such inventory is not available, I don't believe that they can combine two records' worth of reservations under one PNR.
