It looks like as long as you paid money for the certificates, there is no expiration date.

Check out these links:

I still have heaps of Check certs left from a stupid purchase last year. Havent been able to use thenm because of the Stay Pay Play promo.
I notice on the front of the cert that
"Expiration date and no cash redemption void where prohibited by law,INCLUDING California"
Does that mean that the expiration date is void in Cal?If so can I use them there AFTER the expiration date?
Im no lawyer but thats what I read. i recently spoke to Hyatt whilst in the states and they were unaware of this clause.
I dont really want to use them here in sydney as they dont give a good enough rate so want to use them in Cal in Oct.they expire in august.they shouldnt REALLY have ANY expiration date as they are NOT sold at a discount and Hyatt has our money for however long they are in our hands. i think its outrageous!
i used them last month then pauid for the balance of the stay on Amex and they denied me a Stay Pay Play award because of it.
I have been Diamond for 5 years and they dont seem to care.
Starwood has now got 40 nights off me since they comped me to Plat and they dont require Amex payment for their current promo for Oz members.
