I vaguely recall in the back of my mind that somebody on FT mentioned that they were unable to book reservations using their Suite upgrades past the 2/28/2010 deadline, rather they would have had to wait until March 1st, 2010 to apply the Suite upgrade cert, even though they had already requalified for Diamond for next year. And this was for a late March or April 2010 stay IIRC.
