LIH Prem, I too have been a patron at this property staying at least twice a year, for the past 4 years for about 10 days on each stay while working in San Jose and must agree that the Hyatt Sainte Claire is one of the nicer properties downtown, in addition to the Hotel DeAnza, another renovated hotel property, albeit with no frequent guest affiliation.
I've stayed in a variety of rooms at the Sainte Claire over the years as well as the corner suites, which, having the same pleasant furnishings, are much more roomy and have upgraded amenities from those in the regular rooms. While I prefer the Sainte Claire to the Fairmont, as I feel it has more personality and charm than its 20-story neighbor, room service, while delicious, is somewhat limited since it is served by only one restaurant, Il Fornaio. As you mentioned, the data ports are in an unusual location, however a quick call to the front desk led me to their location. Overall, this is a wonderful little property in a somewhat sad downtown area.
