In my situation, I wasn't told by any Hyatt people beforehand before I made my reservation or before/at the time that I got my Regency club room. However, yesterday, I did get a very nice call from the Hyatt general manager who explained that my situation was "not of the norm" and says that they do try to notify all diamond members or other guests who books a regency club room and that they do give out complimentary breakfast and appetizer chits to these guests if the guests still want those rooms (none of these were offered to me). (I had called Hyatt's general consumer affairs dept. to complain after I got back home). I'm happy with the follow-up service at least.
