Regency Club Lounge Closed - Lack of Demand
This past weekend, I was supposed to stay at the Hyatt in Monterey (not the Highlands Inn; the other one). First, the grounds were nice, but the rooms were able Motel 6-ish.
In any event, what annoyed me the most was that we found out after checking in that the Regency Club Lounge was closed -- permanently. I called up the conceige and was told that the hotel had decided to permanently close the lounge because of "lack of demand." This sounds like a highly doubtful explanation; surely, there were other diamond members staying at this very large (500+ rooms) hotel (especially during peak summer season).
What gives? Any one ever have an experience like this where the hotel closes the lounge for this or similar reason?
