OLCI was with NWA. Yes the originating flight was out of MFR through AS, however, the gate agent said you only have to pay one bag fee. I said, I already paid it with NWA.com and showed her the reciept. She said I should have paid AS first b/c thats my originating flight and that would have handled the airline change. She said NWA should offer you a refund. HOWEVER, she ONLY checked my bags through to LAX. She said I didn't have to recheck my bag, and my reciept also says that my bags have been checked to their final destination and I don't need to recheck.

But what puzzled me was my ticket (which i noticed in mid air) only said to LAX. So I showed it to the AS gate agent in LAX and she said....they forgot to tag your bags all the way through and I would have to claim my bag and recheck in with NWA.

So...I think the mess up is in my favor here. Clearly AS did NOT check my bags all the way through. I should get a refund for their mess up. I should also get a refund from NWA b/c my originating flight was out of AS and my OLCI was with NWA. However, I only want to request a refund from AS for their mess up.

To answer beckoas questions. The claim tag (i noticed in mid flight) only had LAX as a final destination which led me to believe my bags didn't get interlined.
