How common are lower walk-up rates
I'm curious as to how much flexibility the front desk at Hyatts have to give lower walk-up rates? I tried this as the Coolum Beach and the front desk gave me a winter rate though it wasn't quite the antipodian winter yet (AUD 195 inc. breakfast while central reservations quoted me AUD 220 w/o breakfast 3 minutes earlier).

I will be staying at the Mainz location next weekend and hope to get something better than the DEM 330 for double occupancy rate (have UA-50%-off DEM 215 rate booked but want something with more assured chance of getting the points and SPP stay eligibility).
