Have just checked into the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong and am struggling with the Zen-style hotel room. I love clean lines and modern style, but this is a bit exaggerated, I think...
It took me 15 minutes to locate the light switch (three little clear plastic marbles at the side of a wooden box next to the bed, without signeage or instructions...), and just about the same to find the power outlet hidden inside a wooden wall panel that to my surprise also contains the fax machine and safe (way too small for a laptop) that I was searching for.
I broke a fingernail trying to open the wardrobe door (no handles, just a little round silver plate with a hole inside) just to find that it is too small for my bag, and I am still trying to figure out how to open the curtains. There must be a hidden control panel somewhere.... maybe under the bed?! Does anyone know?
Sigh, I wish designers would keep in mind that people actually need to live in these rooms...
