No blackout. For real?
I'm a Diamond member and just went to book a weekend stay in Asheville, NC in a couple of weeks. Interestingly, I was denied the stay and told that the "blocks" of reward stays were unavailable for this hotel at that time. As a Diamond member, I asked about the 48 hour guaranteed stay and I was also told that this was unavailable.
All of this, and I can still book a room (by paying for it).
This was all attempted through the Diamond Desk.
I was told that the Diamond Desk would send a request to the hotel for me to have a reward stay - but that the hotel would need to approve it and that it would take 7 days to hear something back.
Has anyone else experienced something like this?
Am I crazy, or is this completely against the guaranteed benefits that we are promised as Hilton members?
TIA,
Ben
