I last went a couple of months ago on the 737. The host pilot told me that we couldnt do any "emergencies" as they had been banned on the experience flights. Something to do with pilots using the experience flights as practice, IIRC.

On previous visits on the 737 I have done single engine landings, windshear on take off, CFIT (controlled flight into terrain) avoidance etc, landing into Jersey (short runway) with a strong crosswind and one engine out and taking off then landing in the shortest time possible, ignoring all procedural rules. The 'severe turbulence' setting was also very interesting.

I have another session booked this weekend and am taking a friend of mine who is a 777 pilot. I've asked him to come up with some scenarios too. I'm sure my lack of skills will give him something to laugh at!

I can wholeheartedly recommend a trip. As others have said though you can get hooked - as my 5 or 6 recent visits will confirm!
