applied for credit limit increase and was denied. i cancelled the gold card, re-applied for CLI, and was denied again.

looks like theyre real tough, and when not paying for gasoline or restaurants the SPG is my primary card and im always maxing it out
deniah, $75k with AmEx plus the charge card exposure is a lot of unsecured credit for one issuer, particularly with an average account age of 3 years. With a median of 5 years and a high of 8 years, that implies five cards with an age of 1 year or less (to make the math work). Lots of new account bonuses lately?

Perhaps if you had cancelled one of the AmEx 25k credit cards instead of the charge card, your SPG limit may have been higher?
