Incase I have to stay at a Sheraton for 3 nights but instead of 1 reservation for 3 nights, I make 3 reservations 1 night each and then checkout every monring and then check in every evening....

Q1. Does this count as 3 stays and help me towads quicker platinum qualification?
Q2. If my city (lets say SFO) has 1 sheraton and 1 le meridian and I alternate between them, does this count as 3 stays?

I am trying to undertand the rules to see what qualifies as valid stay.
