JetBlue was able to drop one flight attendant by removing some seats. They now only need 3 FAs on the A320 flights. Additionally this addressed the problem B6 faced with repeated fuel stops on west bound flights during the winter.
In no way was this driven out of providing a better product for the customer. B6 charges as much as $25 per leg for seats in the expanded leg room section.
