Very simple - CX (& most other airlines) are CROOKS - they claim FREE tickets but include fuel surcharges (which by the way should be outright banned) as well as tax. Government or airport taxes are one thing but to charge us a fuel surcharge is simply outrageous.

I am assuming united only charged the airport taxes but no fuel charges as I understand (but cannot confirm) that that is the practice of US based airlines.
