What not to do:

Congratulations! I assume experiencing Fiji itself is the purpose of having a destination wedding there. Don't get distracted.

For a couple of years (a few years back) one could take the most delicious sunset cruise on a gorgeous teak-decked tall ship that was anchored in Opunohu Bay on Moorea.

The first time we went, there were three newlywed couples on board as part of the 20 or so passengers. It was a stunning evening for weather and sunset and a pod of dolphins decided to come along to entertain us. The six newlyweds stood in a huddle midship, blocking the crew's work, talking about their weddings, caterers, etc. the whole way out and back. So engaged were they in their wedding stories, they didn't even remember where they were. They didn't see the water, the island, the dolphins, or the sunset. They shouted to talk above the wonderful music the crew played.

On the way back to shore, the captain's wife commented that "they must have come to *do* Moorea, not to see it."

Be sure to see Fiji.
