Yeah, I realize that people refer to Hong Kong as HKG, Singapore as SIN, El Paso as ELP.
But using the airport code to refer to San Francisco is just wrong in so many ways.... For one thing, SFO (the airport) is physically separated from the city itself by a number of miles.
I agree that R&G Lounge is a good choice.
I suggest you check the existing restaurant threads in this forum as well.
If you want to have an authentic Chinese restaurant that actually IS near SFO (the airport), I would suggest the Hong Kong Flower Lounge in Millbrae. It's a great place for dim sum (or yum cha as we call it in Hong Kong) as well as banquets - we were thinking of having our wedding banquet there but it was being renovated at that time, so didn't do it.
It's not unusual to see diners who are either going to the airport or just arrived (with their tell-tale luggage with claim tags attached, in back of their chairs) at the restaurant.
It's about 5 minutes drive from SFO, El Camino Real at Millbrae Avenue.
I too will vouch for R & G Lounge in Chinatown as a great place. Their crabs are the signature dish, but their candied walnut prawns are also great too.
