If you miss your connection, AA will accomodate you and get you on the next flight. Look at it this way - if you miss your connection, chances are you'll have to wait an hour or two for the next flight, and you'll be in the same boat as if you had booked a longer connection time. The upside is that you make the tight connection and get to GRB earlier.

I'd recommend booking the connection.
Of course, if you book the longer connection time, instead of getting it due to missing the flight, then your seating choices are generally more restrictive.
