Try the Manhattan on Suk Soi 15 next time - good location and reasonable comfort for about $40 with BBF. Or Ambassador Hotel on Soi 11 at around the same rates. These are my favourite hotels in BKK, for their locations and good rates.
I used a 40 GBP voucher at Ambassador just last week and paid just about GBP 2 extra. Nice (huge!) refurbished rooms in the Tower Wing and got a good view from the 16th floor.
