I am not an expert but my son spent six months there. Generally wear conservative dress i.e. no short skirts, cover up arms, etc. No one in less conservative dress will be stopped by authorities but women dressed conservatively will be given more respect and less hassle from the public. Having said that Jordan isn't really a place where people get hassled at all from the public or street vendors.
