It doesn't pi$$ me off, but I did in fact notice it. I thought to myself "gee, when did AA add winglets to its 777's?"

It's not just news coverage, but pretty much any time a passenger aircraft appears on TV, including sitcoms, dramas, and the like. One time I was amazed that they showed a DC-10 taking off, an extended cabin scene that was a narrow-body, and then a 737 landing. I thought to myself "Wow - not only was that a very narrow widebody, they managed to lose an engine off the tail somewhere in flight!"
