What happens if we miss our connection? sit and wait? and hope? if my flight is late leaving Tucson are we entitled to compensation if we miss our connection? Thanks in advance for your input!

As for whether or not you'll make your connection, please see the FAQ entry here. All ORD T3 Concourses are connected airside (with the exception of international arrivals, which are in T5), but it can be a long walk from the ends of the concourses - you will likely arrive TUS-ORD in H/K and depart ORD-GRB on American Eagle from G. It's always wise to travel with a list of backup flights on AA and other airlines so you can assist proactively with rebooking if you misconnect. If you misconnect, any compensation would depend on the reason for the delay - see the FAQ entry on this topic here.

Personally, I wouldn't schedule this connection, especially in the winter at ORD, but I prefer to leave some extra padding to reduce stress and as I can spend extra time comfortably in the Admirals Club. However, as noted in the FAQ, since AA lets you book it, the odds are that you will make it.
