Hi folks-

This is going to be a very general question to all you Latin America experts out there, I'll go ahead and say thanks so much in advance!

I am planning a special father/son trip with my Dad, with our main goal being to visit Machu Picchu (hereafter MP) together. We both probably can free up 7-8 days total in November or December.

Unfortunately, I only know a little about MP in general, so its hard to plan 7 days of activities. We do have close friends in Buenos Aires, but that is something like 1000 miles away, I believe...

Anyhow, I am just looking for some ideas on what else to do. For example, we both dive, so maybe scuba would be a good option for a few days. I speak Spanish, so at least we will feel comfortable mingling all over. I'd also considered stop-overs in either Quito or Guayaquil, or if reasonable, Columbia.....

Anyway, I'm all ears, thanks again for any input.
