Yes it works in a phone, even if it is not 3G, just make sure that you program and connect to the correct APN (this is written on the instructions given with the prepaid SIM)

It is annoying how Starhub, does not provide a SIM that does both Voice and Data, without charging per Kilobyte on the 'data' part.
