She pretended not to understand what all the fuss was about and kept casually taking a few more puffs. By the time she did put it out, she had already had her fix!
Yep, you guessed it. She did the same a few times into the flight, each time feigning ignorance!
Pity that CX won't really press charges against people like that. I think BA once offloaded a passsenger who kept smoking on a LHR-LAX flight in Calgary or something like there and then billed him for the cost of landing and other charges as well.
