It seems the screeners at FRA apply capricious rules similar to those at LHR Terminal 5.

Earlier this year, I had tried to transit two bottles of whisky, properly bagged with internal receipt, at LHR.

As one security screener "read me the riot act," another stood by and rolled his eyes.

I checked the bottles, which were well padded by bag and box (Crown Royal) and they came off the carousel intact in DXB.

Looks like its not at all worth the hassle.
