My understanding is the arrival lounge is for non-transferring passengers (they can use the showers and lounges airside anytime) who are arriving on the morning and will therefore not have access to hotel rooms till later that day. Most hotel allow checkin at 2pm.

That said I understand some arrivals lounges (and there are not that many!) do stay open longer am I correct in thinking HKG?
