I stayed in two SS in the last 10 days or so. One of them upgraded me to a two BR. Neither had a clue what to do with a diamond member, but when confronted about welcome amenity one checkin person just told me to get whatever I wanted to eat and drink comp'd out of their little store - which was very generous.

Since I was by myself, the two br upgrade was pointless but a nice gesture. I was perfectly happy with the 1BR at the other SS where I may have booked a studio - can't remember.

I'm at a Hyatt Place right now and I like it a lot. It is an excellent value for $63/night! Huge sectional sofa, huge flatscreen tv, wetbar, great bed, free internet, free breakfast. This is great for the price - especially as a recent Hilton "refugee" who had to "go back" while in MSY b/c there are no Hyatt properties there yet! Hilton MSY Airport was the worst Hilton I've ever been to. Hilton Garden Inn MSY airport was MUCH nicer - isn't that sad?

Loving Hyatt! Will now only stay at Hilton in "emergencies".
