Have a look at this photo posted on Airliners - the B and E seats both face rearwards so that they wouldn't be staring at each other across the aisle for the whole flight with no privacy divider.

I suppose the other configuration could have been for A to be rear facing and B forward, as normal - and for both E & F to be forward facing pairs - sort of like E & F on a wider body config but facing the other way - the problem with that arrangement is that it would have required a separate seat design and would have taken more room width-wise as the yin/yang benefit would have been lost.
