My flight UA 933 Sep 25 was canceled because the [inbound] never made it across the Atlantic. It was delayed 3 hours because of mechanical and only made it as far as Chicago. But it's unclear if it landed there due to mechanical or other reason. (The rumor is that someone got sick, but that sounds like BS. Why not keep going to FRA after unloading the sick person?)

Does this reason affect my claim for the EU EUR600 compensation? I have to overnight it in FRA.
