Down3Green, Thanks for the detailed info on the inner workings of the program. I find it interesting that although one major reason they invoked this program is for safety reasons (prevention of runway incursions), the airport has the ability to suspend it due to congestion. But I guess if you have 50 aircraft waiting for departure, they have to sit somewhere!
Agreed - I've noticed this in the past and it makes me glad
as a Delta passenger to know that the airport is working on making the field more efficient, which could mean making a tight connection since we were waiting, or having to wait 4-5 minutes to cross the runway until they allow a dump over the runway. Always glad to see the airport doing more to make connections easier.
